Multi-Media Folksinger with Irish and Bluegrass Roots

From touring with Gordon Lightfoot, headlining major US festivals, receiving Folk Alliance International “Album of the Year” and becoming FAI’s Artist-in-Resident, to releasing his latest album Nine Becomes One (2023), Ithaca, NY-based folk musician Joe Crookston is an active performer whose infectious concerts blend his diverse stylistic leanings from bluegrass, Celtic, and roots music with visual arts into an inspired and surprising treat.  He’s played with Suzanne Vega, Dar Williams, David Francey, John McCutcheon, John Gorka, Judy Collins and many more. His song Brooklyn in July was featured in an award-winning short film.

Joe enjoys teaching and facilitating, including songwriting workshops in conjunction with public concerts, and he has been invited to teach at many retreats including SummerSongs, The Swannanoa Gathering in North Carolina, and the Yearly Quaker Gathering in Rhode Island.
